bottom!
Ivy is basically all head and legs- with a teeny tiny bottom in between. A couple of minutes after this photo was taken- she had entirely emptied the bottom two shelves of books, and was using the pile she had created as a step to help her reach the third shelf.
We had a great afternoon- we did some painting including a lovely little trail of hand prints on the floor she made whilst running away from cleanup. I plonked her in the bath to clean her up- added some bubbles for the first time and she was very impressed. Also put the shower on at one end and she crawled back and forth through it. After her bath I let her play in her birthday suit in her room.
At dinner tonight- she ate rice like finger food, stuffing it from the bowl to her mouth. She made the most spectacular mess. Euan now goes upstairs without Ivy to run her bath so she hangs out on my knee whilst he's away. I normally get a couple of kisses out of her- but tonight she was alternating kisses and cuddles and even blew a raspberry on my cheek- a behaviour I have probably accidentaly enforced by laughing too much.
Euan attempted to sing her 'Tears in heaven tonight' and found he couldn't because he no finds the subject matter too upsetting. Funny how parenting changes your outlook on these things- I must have taught classes of children about mothers being seperated from children in the holocaust dozens of times and it never really got to me emotionally till I had an Ivy.
