Do you...
Picked up a bag of sweets while I was at the shop today. Just fancied them, so though why not. (I could probably give myself a thousand good answers to that one, but what the hell!).
Does make you wonder though. We get so hung up about the things we put into our bodies that we sometimes forget why we eat food. While I was standing in the butcher's, I had a conversation with one of the lad's that works there about haggis. (Now that's something you either love, or you hate).
Of course there are many haggii on the go at the moment. We're not far away from the 25th, and the preparations are well underway. However, J confessed that he hated the stuff. His first memory of tasting it was at school dinners, so maybe I understand. I must admit I don't think I'd be brave enough to try that one myself. Besides, as he works for a Scottish Champion haggis maker, I guess that there isn't much hope of ever converting him. I did offer to take in an old recipe though. I usually give it to my guests AFTER they have eaten. Maybe I'll save that for later.
Anyway, I digress. Food is not just for sustenance. It is also for sharing... so, do you love someone enough to give them your last one?
(This is the second in an INSIDE series. The first one is here).
