Foraged
Yesterday we went for dinner at Edinburgh Larder Bistro. It's a fabulous little basement restaurant that specializes in Scottish-sourced food and drink. We both had the same starter - smoked mackerel pâté with homemade oatcakes, accompanied by foraged wild leaves and flowers.
The leaves and petals were unlike anything I've tasted before, and complemented the pâté perfectly. The combination of tastes was sublime.
