Looking Good

This morning was crisp and clear. I was up in time to see the full moon set behind Abners Head. It was huge, and beautifully marked, and surrounded by a soft orange mist. Utterly breathtaking. Alas, it was still too dark and I couldn’t manage the contrasts.

Later the mountains appeared, looking magnificent. I was able to capture them before the sun moved behind them. Then I went to Christchurch to do my grocery shopping. When I returned in the afternoon the mountains were grey and flat in a milky haze.
