Longsands, Tynemouth - Not My Favourite Beach

Mainly because in the dim and distant past the school cross country course used to start in the middle of this beach (where the white vehicle is parked) and head towards where I stood to take the photograph. The first 200 yards involved running on sand and then up the ramp to street level. Lets just say I was not full of the joys of spring or any other bloody season by the time I reached the top! Mind in those days the outdoor swimming pool in the foreground looked a little more inviting than it does now!

The view is back towards Whitley Bay. St Mary's Lighthouse is the little white speck just right of centre on the horizon.

It's obviously a popular spot because Mr T. Moth blipped this same beach from the other end yesterday.

A good day in the company of Mrs F as always and the added bonus of fish and chips for lunch!!
