An Early Start

D, Alf and Rob left just after 5 this morning on their big adventure to Le Mans 24 hour race. Despite a late night at cricket, Alfie was awake at 3.20 but thankfully stayed in his own room. After they left, Poppy curled up with me and we managed to go back to sleep until it was time to get up and ready for school

They arranged to stop on the way at davetherave's who kindly provided lunch, and I am hoping they will arrive at the camp site very soon.

It's been one of those 'many blip' days which rarely come along. I have been looking after a friend's dog for the day. The 3 hounds have been rounding each other up all day. In this heat they must be exhausted.

Now we have lovely Sophie over to play and hopefully we'll order pizza in later. The girls are playing on the zip wire so there is a lot of screaming going on.

I'm missing the boys already and looking back at Alfie's blog and how things have changed over the years has made me a bit sad. The Ian shaped hole in our lives seems even bigger at times like this.
