Feeding the ducks on Coppice Pond this morning took quite some time.

The bread - labelled doorstep slices - left for toasting at Toddlers yesterday was too thick for the toaster. No problem we thought - we'll grill it. Although there are lots of buttons and dials to choose from on the range type cooker - we couldn't work out which one operated the grill.

We then decided to cut the doorsteps into thinner slices - no sharp knife could be found. Before popping out to local shop for another loaf - briefly thought of trying to make the slices thinner by bashing them with a fish slice .

The doorstep slices were given to the ducks this morning by two ladies whilst I took this shot from the feeding station at Coppice Pond
