Silent Forest

To try out my new lens I took a walk in the forest with The Friend and The Dog. Apart from the occasional barking sound, the forest is silent on a calm day like today. I was promised a red squirrel and a roe dear.

I wasn't disappointed. I saw both but the squirrel was too high in the tree and the deer was too fast. Since I last did this walk the ferns, bracken and brambles had grown high, making it more difficult to see the deer, we were lucky!

It was lovely sitting on a log with a flask of tea in the early morning sun... and the silence.
