One from the blip-bank today.

Went for a short wander along the canal this lunchtime. The ice was looking a bit mushy given the thaw in the weather that has descended on us.

Seems the same is true up at the Lake of Menteith. Although the official Grand Match has been cancelled there has been an underground campaign to hold a people's event anyway.

Got two stones in the car ready to go but it looks like the ice conditions will not be viable. I'll check in the morning and if it's bad news I'll just have to go to work instead.

There could be more frost and ice on the way come the weekend, so fingers crossed for a drop-everything-and-go bonspiel.
