Lark ascending 2
The last time I caught a lark on camera on 25 April, it was very tiny indeed. And rather abstract when magnified - one black and a few half-tone pixels - though it miraculously transformed back into a lark when made smaller. It's amazing how the brain interprets pattern!
This image of this little lark (one of a number of pairs) is a only a tiny bit bigger but I can vouch for the fact that it made its presence known with its beautiful and penetrating song. Alas, I can't blip the sound but it is good to know the larks appear to be thriving in the scrubby patches within the two pea fields.
