Brown In An Un-Mown Meadow
I've been chasing butterflies today. I started with a skipper and it soon became obvious why they got the name. They certainly do Skip To My Lou. :) I gave up and started pursuing what I initially thought was a gatekeeper, wondering how our friend Gatekeeper is getting on in Cornwall.
One of the 'rules' of insect macro photography is to focus on the subject's eyes. Whilst I was trying to remember the thing about eye-spots I inadvertently focussed on that. :)
Gatekeepers usually have two 'pupils' in their eye-spots so I think my butterfly is a meadow brown. First time this year I have seen these on the wing. They love our lovely un-cut grass.
