Board room

When they told me that I'd be running the training at The Boardroom, Porthtowan I imagined a long desk and corporate decor. Not at all.

At the end of a narrow road, signposted "Beach", that is covered in sand, is a surfer's café called Blue. Adjoining is a large square room, with an amazing view of the beach.

Apparently the view is new. It used to look out on a large dune, but the storms swept lots of the sand away. (There are strange tales of a village divided by a dune-stabilising attempt of planting xmas trees in early January. Hard to believe, but anything can happen in Cornwall)
