green shoots

Back in November I went to a conference and was given a free tree! I have completely forgotten all about it during the last few weeks, well since we moved here in fact. I saw it on the corner of the kitchen window cill yesterday and was really surprised to see new leaves on it!

When it grows up it will be a silver birch tree!

Think I will look after it indoors for a little while longer though, the shock of the snow and ice may well see it off otherwise.
