In the heart of local sport

The main stand of Joensuu central athlethics (track and field in the US) field reflected on the windows of Joensuu Areena, the home for the local major league basketball and floorball teams as well as a venue for various conventions, expos and large concerts. They're located in Mehtimäki, an area through which I walk at least twice, usually three to four times a day. In addition to the athlethics field and Areena, the Mehtimäki area also includes a swimming hall, indoor ice rink, soccer field, Pesäpallo (Finnish baseball) field, jogging tracks, skiing tracks in the winter, etc.
