The Barton

This pub is where Friday club takes place. A magical time of the week when school staff let off steam and talk about work, life, politics, make origami elephants, have T E Lawrence read to us and sometimes accidentally stay out far too long. The locals had all gone out for a smoke and SW was at the bar at this moment. I contemplated how easy it would be to continue the cycle of my normal week and how people get used to the bar maid knowing what you drink (a pint of Stowford Press in my case). I understood how routine and familiarity could so easily take hold. Then I remembered how cheap Pad Thai is in Chaing Mai and all was ok again.
