No fifth gear!

We had a lovely couple of hours cruising on the Canal du Midi in a little electric boat from Le Somail, but a speed boat it wasn't. If anyone had been walking on the towpath they would have overtaken us, and we had all sorts of comments from the people we did see, including finding fifth gear!

It is a beautiful section of the canal and whilst, again, the bird life wasn't up to much (I'd been hoping for a roller or bee-eater sighting), we did see a red squirrel. The other excitement was having to navigate round a holiday motor boat that had come away from its moorings and was floating across the canal with no-one in sight!
