Stayin' Alive

This orchid was a Mother's Day gift from C. In truth, I had to buy it myself, but he picked it out for me. I have followed the instructions that came with it, which is to give it two ice cubes per week, and a month later it is still alive.

This may not seem particularly remarkable, but my thumb is as brown as Grumpy's is green.

And with apologies to the Bee Gees, and a nod to my childhood...

Well now, I get low and I get high,
And if I can't get either, I really try.

Yeah, the orchid and I are stayin' alive. Some days feel like a closer scrape than others, but though we look delicate, we're sticking it out.
