Today we lost a comedy legend. Rik Mayall was a genius; his physical comedy was top notch, and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that he was a huge influence on many in the comedy game. Young Ones, Bottom, Grim Tales, Drop Dead Fred... So much of his work was a huge part of my childhood, and I'm genuinely gutted at this loss. I had the pleasure of meeting him once (can't remember the exact year; I'm thinking around 2005ish), and he was an absolutely star. He laughed and joked with all of us, posed for photos, wrote lovely messages in our books and was generally a fantastic chap. I shall never forget this hug, or the bum pinch that followed. We lost a good one today. Rest in peace, you legend.
