Plan B

It's been a stressful few weeks for myself and McCombers.

Since moving in back in November, our plan has been that we will buy her parents house, and since we were buying it from her parents, we'll get an extremely good deal, and we won't need a deposit, and we are already living here! Perfect.

Sadly this is now not happening, for reasons I won't bore you with, we are now no longer getting the house. We've looked into all our options, and it's a gigantic pain in the arse! To get a new build house on a help to buy scheme, you need to have your name down at least a year in advance, and our mortgage payments would be so high we wouldn't be able to afford to live. There are a lot of houses on the market, but they are going for so much over the asking price it's just mental!

We've decided that renting is our best option, at least in the meantime. We've found a great two bedroom flat only 5 minutes from where we currently live. We're still waiting on the lease to come through, but hopefully we should be moving in by Mid July!

So that's the good news!

Due to this new housing arrangement, our initial wedding plan is now kaput!
Every penny we were saving was for our wedding fund, and we could afford to put our savings into the wedding, as we didn't need a deposit for the house. Now we don't have a house. So now the wedding has been scaled down considerably. We were initially going to have over 100 for the whole day, but that's now down to just 20.

All our savings are now going to put towards buying furniture and appliance for our new rented flat (it's unfurnished) and towards an eventual deposit in a house, which is now a long way off.

Our wedding is now going to be on Friday August 21st, the ceremony will take place at the winter gardens, and the meal and reception will be at The Old Mill Inn.

It's been a stressful few weeks, hence my lack of blipping. At least we now have a plan, I am disappointed that we won't be able to have all our friends for the whole day, but everyone will be invited in the evening, which is the best part anyway! Plus since it's on a Friday, that means all our guests will have 2 days to recover from the hangover!
