The first task of the competition, and stressful conditions and site to boot.

Several pilots did not fly due to the many opportunities for glider servicing at the bottom of the not very big hill. That was assuming your car made it up and didn't need any servicing itself!

Those that did fly struggled with only a handful escaping the clutches of the hill into cycling skies behind.

Hoping for a proper flight tomorrow, and a sensible hill.
