Watch This Space!
Forgive me for breaking the "one picture a day" rule!
Little did I know yesterday morning that today I would be viewing a property with the idea of using it as a gallery for our images and a home for our courses! It is adjacent to the workshop I currently use as a base and has very recently been vacated.
Richard had the idea on Tuesday, told me about it yesterday and got the keys for me to see it today. Of course, I'd been in many times before when it was full of workbenches and saddle-making equipment, today I could see what a good, bright room it was. Perfect! So Richard is busy talking to the owner's agent, who is agreeing, in principle, to all the suggestions we are making. We just need the approval of the landlord.
Centre picture is looking across the room to our office/workroom.
Top left is a sink (to be replaced) and an up-and-over door (to be filled in).
Top right is the other end of the room.
Bottom left is one end of the office/workroom.
Bottom right is the other end of the office workroom.
As well as, hopefully, selling prints and cards we will do the mounting and framing of images which we currently do at home. The frames, themselves, will be made next door in The Wood Workshop. We are now getting a lot of enquiries from other photographers and the general public to do their framing, though our Photography Courses are the main reason for us needing a nice, versatile space.
We also hope other craft groups will make use of our facilities, and that photographers may want the occasional use of a studio.
It's going to be fun!
