Fairhaven
We were in Wrea Green because my dad was scheduled to have lumbar decompression surgery at the Royal Preston Hospital. After having been informed of a potential emergency and then having been on standby all day we found out at 3:30pm that everything was cancelled. By that time we had cabin fever and my dad resembled a raising through dehydration. We escaped for a quick stroll to Lytham St Annes, in the usual gale force conditions that I remember from my youth, before drowning our sorrows with cocktails at Ribby Hall. We now have a new date of this Thursday for the operation - fingers crossed!
