Life's Little Moments

Tasty!

Somehow, in spite of spending way too much time outside with my camera today, I managed to get a lot done. Go figure.

As is my usual morning routine, I took my tea out on the patio this morning ... and was immediately greeted by the unmistakable sound of cedar waxwings. Couldn't see them, but could certainly here their high, thin call ... coming from deep inside the cherry tree. Finally one popped up and posed for some pics before they all burst out of the tree and flew up into the big maple trees.

But the fun didn't stop there. I saw my first babies of the spring...a pair of starlings brought their brood to the yard and then a short while later I got a couple of quick glimpses of at least two cardinal fledglings! Oh, I do so love this time of year! I know the woodpecker and titmouse chicks will be fledging soon, too. So, I can safely predict that you will probably be seeing quite a few bird-kid shots from me over the next few weeks.

I'm also starting to see a few more hummingbirds - P-Hummie chased another male away from the feeders twice today and I've seen several females zipping in for quick nectar breaks. The females are all on the nests now so they aren't around much other than quick sorties.

I posted six pics, including P-Hummie and a starling kid, starting HERE on FLickr.

Hubs started work today and when I talked to him last night, he'd just returned from having dinner with his two bosses. He was so excited, and I'm just thrilled that he took the job. I'll be meeting the two women he works for next weekend when I am in FL - we'll all be going out for dinner together Saturday night, which I am looking forward to.

Talked to our realtor today and she is busy getting all of the marketing material done for our house. She's doing a realtor's open house this Thursday which should help in terms of starting to generate some traffic. She said that the market in our part of the county is still slow, but she is confident that we'll find a buyer. Just may take some time. I guess I will have to exercise some of that patience that I'm so lacking in...

Thanks for sending Speed Racer to the Spotlight - he's chuffed and he's demanding a peanut pay-raise. Cheeky little thing.

Cheers,

Debbi
