Lunchtime view

Perfect weather for our last day at Portholme - although the sunshine also brought out the horseflies in a big way - we had to resort to dousing ourselves in Jungle Formula...This was the view as we sat among the grass and flowers to eat our picnic.

We had an interesting evening discussing methods of recording aquatic plant cover with Paul, who's in the final stages of research for his Masters. When he left we fetched a Chinese take-away, which seemed a fitting end for a busy week. And although my leg twinged now and then, three days of walking through hay meadows hasn't caused it to get any worse - and I'm now starting to gradually reduce the pain relief - hurrah!!
