Sydney Great Train Expo
This morning Lorraine and I headed into Central Railway to visit the Great Train Expo which also included the opportunity for a ride in a beautifully restored double decker bus. We took a bus ride around the city.
This 36 class engine shared in the pulling of a passenger train which ran five trips around the Sydney suburbs on each of the three days of the long weekend. All trips were apparently fully booked. This engine came into service in 1926. More details on the history of her can be found here.
I hoped to get a shot of the train passing by our local station on its way home but, after standing in the cold and wet for nearly an hour, I gave up and came home.
