Presto Pesto!

Manual Setting Challenge Day: 9

I was up at the crack of dawn - quick cup of tea and then jumped in the car to try and catch the sunrise over the sugar cane fields near the river. Great idea but as I waited all primed up and ready to go I soon realised that their would be no sunrise to day, it was far too cloudy.

Oh well, you can't win them all. With time on my hands I decided to drive around the area and see if their were any Blips in waiting. Imagine my surprise when I came upon a Herb Farm where it was all hands to the deck. It was just after 6.30 and there were already young people working in the field. In the distance was a tractor going up and down the rows with its lights on. They had obviously been hard at it for quite some time.

I was fascinated to see the young fellows on their knees working their way down the most scrumptious rows of Basil. All of a sudden my head was full of Pesto Pasta and Bruschetta!! I have never ever seen such glorious Basil, it was so deliciously green you could eat it!

If you love Italian Food I would definitely encourage you to view the LARGE version of this image!! If you look you'll see the most amazing crop of Dill growing in the background. Bundaberg is the food bowl of Queensland and I'm going to enjoy exploring more of this side of the region while I'm here this week.

It took me a little while to work out the settings in manual and I have to say I'm a lot happier with the result today after yesterdays low light image of the Hitchhikers.
Thanks to many of you I'm now going to spend the night reading the Beginner's Guide to Using Aperture Priority Mode!! Amazing what you find when you punch something into Google Search. Thanks again to everyone who has been giving me such valuable advice. I'm just amazed at your generosity of spirit and knowledge.
