Backblipped.

We went up to the Lake of Menteith today.

There has been a lot of reports in the news this week about the possibility of a Bonspiel taking place this weekend. A Bonspiel, I believe, is a curling tournament, between north and south Scotland, held outdoors on a frozen freshwater loch. As it happened the emergency services could not guarantee the safety of the curlers to allow the Bonspiel to go ahead, but there are rumours of "rebel curlers" going ahead anyway. Rebel curlers - that made me giggle!

The lake has completley frozen over, it was about 7 inches thick today! So we wandered over to the priory over on the island in the middle of the lake.

There were a good number of people out on the lake today, a lot of photographers, a film crew, lots of people with kids and dogs, some curlers and even a bloke on skates pushing a pram!

I took a number of shots, but this is definatley my favourite! I love the happy look on Jed's face, and look how much bigger than Av he is!!!
