Caisteal Duhb ( Castle Dow )

This is the site of the black castle that the Picts built to give them unrivalled views over the River Tay and beyond.
In the foreground are Victorian pillar cairns. The walk up through mixed woodland is well worth the effort, we managed to get down just as a heavy shower set in.
A nice lunch in Dunkeld then back to the cottage and a soak in the hot tub. Luxury,
