Day of Rest?

A trip over the Yorkshire Wolds brought us to Beverley for an orienteering race. We were early starters and both thoroughly enjoyed exploring the intricate alley ways around the town centre. We decided to give the extra sprint course a miss in favour of heading home to give Jet a decent walk.

With the rain of late we realised a number of walks curtailed so we decided on a moorland ramble. We could not believe how busy the Horseshoe Inn was as we arrived in Levisham. However within 100m we were on our own. Dundale ponds had attracted the Highland Cattle as a watering hole. Very apt as the area was given to Malton Priory in 1230 for their cattle, sheep and horses and the ponds were developed as a place for the animals to drink.

A thoroughly enjoyable day.
