Forties Day at the Old house
What a wonderful, crazy, day. Incredibly poor weather, pouring rain, turned out to be good for attendance at our 1940s event! Families poured into the museum and were treated to a host of activities 1940s style. Breautiful ladies turned up resplendent in costume and had a whale of a time trying on hats loaned by volunteers. We served tea and home made cakes, which went down and treat. Visitor also had the chance to look at our 1940s exhibition of local residents involved in WWII. A poignant but (it has to be said) fun way of looking back at an incredible point in history.
After that! Lovely drink and meet with my weekend guests.
Jazz band at a local Thornbridge pub. Followed by a , you wont believe it, FREE LIVE LISTEN to the legendary Tom Jones who was playing in Chesterfield tonight. Have to say I stood in Tesco car park and had a listen.
Boy, he is amazing. What a voice :)
All in all, quite a day.
