All that matters
Dear Diary,
Today began with a very quiet morning sitting with Dad. I filled the hours by drawing in my sketchbook and messing about online, while Dad read and did crosswords. It was calm and peaceful. Early afternoon and my bro called to take me to see his new flat. Only ten min walk away. After appropriate 'oohs' and 'ahhs' we walked together in the beautiful sunshine to the local retail park where he bought a vacuum cleaner (house warming cash gift from me) and after mucho internet research and comments from friends (real and virtual) I bought a new camera which I am hopeful is finally, exactly what I want, or rather, need - but annoyingly was out of stock so I have to wait until Monday to take delivery - watch this space! Missions accomplished, we walked back home at a leisurely pace. So very, very nice to spend time together, just the two of us - doesn't happen often. Walking and talking about life, the future, our future, and of course, Dad. Once back 'home' at Dad's, we were joined by my niece (pictured) and eldest nephew for afternoon tea and a very jolly few hours that included both children working with me in their sketch books - something they always do with their Aunty when she's home. Eventually of course, they disappeared with their Dad for dinner leaving me and my Dad transfixed in front of the TV for a Midsomer Murders special on Channel 10 with back-to-back episodes until midnight, multi tasking with laptop and sketchbook.
It's good to be home.
Family is really all that matters.
Cold incredibly this morning with thundery rain turned into really warm sunshine @ 24ºC this afternoon and evening.
