Girls day out

We have had Ian's mum and sister staying with us for the last week, lots of fun and laughter. We girls decided to take a drive, and by the time we got away late in the morning the thick fog was starting to lift.
Drove around Lake Rotorua, with a lunch stop at a great little cafe at Okere Falls at the end of the lake. Nearby is a kayak course on the Kaituna River, and there were a number "playing" around in the water, although it looked pretty cold to me. Great fun watching them as they negotiated the rapids. After a stop at Hamurana Springs, and the great new craft shop in town it was home to prepare for a neighbours 50th birthday party....the theme was "Rock Star"! Decided not to blip the result! It was a great party with some hilarious costumes. Reminder to self that although the funky dark glasses from the $2 shop looked the part, they weren't the best for seeing things in the darkened room!
