Princess Anne's Oak

The plaque on the railings surrounding the tree reads:-

PRINCESS ANNE'S OAK
According to local tradition
this oak was planted around 1700
to commemorate several visits of
Princess (later Queen) Anne to
Tunbridge Wells between 1684 and 1699
It is one of the oldest trees on the Common

No2 son, in the brightly coloured running kit, is bashing down the nettles to make sure I got an unspoilt view of the tree for the blip.
