Memories

On these little pieces of card people have written of memories invoked by the plants found in the surrounding flower bed. Some of the memories are very poignant - of special people or places or situations which have had a particular significance in the writer's life. Watching the cards blow around in the wind I thought this a rather moving exhibit (no pun intended!). I know how much certain plants mean to me because of the connections they have to special people or times in my life.

It's all part of the demonstration plots of RBGE herbology students. The course teaches them about the medicinal properties of plants and in this bed each of the plants featured is thought to help the functioning of memory. Some of the plants are being used in the study of the prevention dementia. I'd like to find out more!
