My Mum

This is my Mum. She has alzheimer's and hasn't spoken in two years. I'm pretty sure she still recognises me as someone she should know. Her eyes sometimes widen when I say a name, or a place.

Today I said goodbye to her. I'm flying to Canada this afternoon to live, and to start a new adventure there. I will probably never see her again.

It feels like I've got a rock in my throat.
