Day of the Heatpump!
Here's Andy, installing our new heatpump. It took a bit longer than expected due to the pipes going through the floor to the outside, rather than straight through the wall (we have a brick house). But the problem was solved by taping the new pipes to the old ones, and Andy pushed, and Mario pulled from the outside until the new pipes made their way outside to connect to the outdoor unit (does that make sense? Never mind).
Andy's from Devon, in the UK, and is working his way around New Zealand. I loved his accent!
This photo shows Andy getting the new pipes ready to install.
Anyway, I write this from the comfort of the sofa, in my now-warm living room, which is all the more wonderful, because outside it's foggy, dark, and miserable. Mother Nature, I do not fear your wrath, for I am warm, and cosy, thanks to the wonder of modern technology!
Now, there's just that pesky loan to pay back to the bank...
