Sunday Morning

Before the show began I got time for a walk along the canal. Always nice in the quietness of the morning.

The flag irises in my garden are a good few days from opening but the ones along the canal bank were getting past their best. as I was taking shots this insect flew past. I think it may be Bombylius major, a bee fly.

I used to think anything furry that flew was a bumble bee, but this has just one pair of wings, not two. Please correct me if my identification is wrong.

A lovely, hot day today with a lot of people to talk to.

We packed up the marquee at the end of the day as I have to be home ready for a visitor tomorrow.
