Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

Life goes on

In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.

Robert Frost. American poet. 1874-1963.

The snake head fritillaries living in our garden are doing their best to ensure that they go on, and indeed multiply. Three years ago we planted 12 bulbs. This year we had 27 flower heads and they are all now bursting with seeds, promising much new life next spring.

For anyone interested in our recent trek to the old northern frontier, I have back-blipped a photograph of the Roman army on manoeuvres.
