Pointe du Raz

This is an amazing place, very near where we stayed last night. It's where the English Channel meets the Bay of Biscay and there is a spectacular tidal race.

We had a storm last night and it was blowing a gale. It was really difficult holding the telephoto still for this shot - even at 1/6400 sec there is noticeable camera shake. If you look carefully in the really choppy section on the left you can see a fishing boat with lots of gulls overhead. The currents bring large shoals of fish and there were several small boats going backwards and forwards and being tossed around like corks. The fishing is by line. It must have been horrendous.
