Thistle Down

A Sale

O look at the paper,
That came in the mail.
Every thing is all listed,
There's going to be a sale.

Shoes have top-notice,
It sure is a laugh.
For the price is too high,
After cutting it in half.

Their gowns, pants and dresses,
And spreads by the score.
There's hose, panties, britches,
And a suit matched...by fours.

There's notions and nic-naks,
For the bride to be wed.
There's a rack of soft sweaters,
That are stripped in bright red.

O look at the purses,
I have looked at them twice.
And to buy one on sale,
I haven't the price.
