An old one
Today was the first chance I have had to try out this little old English .410 gun on the clay ground. It is supreme!
I had to buy it as the maker had the same surname as I do. Thus it 'had my name on it'.
Having bought it I contacted the shop which still exists to see if I could find out anything of its history - I was told by a relative of the maker (same name again) that this little gun was made in December 1913 and was sold or commissioned by a local man. It's price then was £5gns......! I of course had to pay a teeny bit more than that!
It is a top lever hammer gun with the right barrel being choked. It went through re proofing this year and is really in pretty good condition.
In fact I managed to hit some of the clays which usually elude me which made the whole day excellent!
