Tram lines

It's been a very long time coming, but today the Edinburgh tram line opened to the public. I didn't get up to see the first one set off at 5 am, partly because I'd inattentively failed to realise that today was in fact the big day, and also because it was 5 am and my interest in public transport isn't quite that acute. The impression I get is that with the delays and extra cost the new tram system has some way to go before it wins widespread approval - a lady next to me on the train remarked that 'the wheels could be made of diamonds for what it has cost..'. Anyway, in the limited time between getting up and getting to Waverley station for the train back to Shropshire I had time for a walk but didn't manage to catch an actual tram, so this view of the power lines and rails will have to do instead.
