Devil or Green Man?

T and B were clearing out an old stall full of wood and found this grimacing head staring at them right at the back. It gave them quite a shock and they were very wary of it although not being overly superstitious. T carried it up to the farmhouse to show us but didn't know where to set it down so I found a horseshoe by the backdoor and put it around his neck!

Perhaps now our luck will change for the better as regards the weather. We have been unable to finish the silage, only just got the maize in before it would have been too late, and the cattle have very little to graze since we have been unable to mow the grass and empty the fields of silage, they are treading the field they are in. All this wet weather does not bode well on heavy clay.
