what corporations add to small towns.
ugly architecture in exchange for what?
the closure of the corner shop,
the kicking of the green grocer off his lot.
the feeding of the people the thickening snot
of lower prices, shit produce,the slops.
those silly clots
that put profit before people.
will never learn until all is lost.

and under the veranda
little dick smith with his buddy holly glasses
and nondescript dial,
those glasses, that smile,
should make us puke
and run a mile.
