Plumbers' transport
In spite of big wind and chop the plumbers scheduled for today showed up bright and early—we had saved up lots of jobs so they could make one boat trip from Saltspring. It was like christmas! They fixed a problem with our water filtration system and installed a new pressure tank (H is delighted!!) installed 2 new efficient toilets, serviced 2 reverse osmosis systems with new filters and (my favorite), installed a very small hot water tank in the studio!! 4 guys, 4 hours. Only 2 extra trips by one of them (by H in our little tin boat) over to Galiano to get some missing part from the van they keep there since they work there a lot. They also keep a supply van on Mayne Island). All went well until the water was turned back on and one toilet tank leaked from a crack! So off it came to be replaced when they are back this way on Monday. (good there are 2 :-) ) The golf cart came in very handy for bringing it all up the hill to the cabin. And down to the boat. which is loaded with the old….here seen pulling away from the dock.
So ....I’ve got a theme going this week for “Transport”—I’ll have to pick one for the weekly blip challenge, but it seemed a good theme in general for island living…..
