Odyssey
“Odyssey”: ‘(The name of) one of two great hexametric epic poems of ancient Greece traditionally attributed to Homer (the other being the Iliad), which describes the ten years’ wanderings of Odysseus (Ulysses) on his way home to Ithaca after the fall of Troy.’ (OED). The choices on offer included a paperback (the Iliad though, not the Odyssey), a Richard Strauss CD, a Bowie CD (yep! fairly tenuous), Ulysses Road in NW6 or Troy Court in W8. I opted for Troy Court as that was the handiest to my whereabouts and enabled me to bag another street for Bleeding London. Edit to add: I’m sure I’ve got a copy of James Joyce’s Ulysses somewhere – that might have been more relevant!
Day #156 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by the OED word of the day.
