BRAVO

For the Queen's Award bestowed on the best thing which ever happenend to our town and which I was so pleased to see when I went for a quick lunch there today, it read:-

To all Customers: on the 2nd June 2014 an announcement from Buckingham Palace confirmed the Festival Drayton Centre here as a recipient of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

The Citation of this award read: Creating quality of life enhancing opportunities for the whole community and beyond by providing multi-purpose facilities including cinema, theatre, spaces for meetings, leisure and learning, exhibition gallery and coffee shop .

I couldn't be more delighted for the bunch of individuals who have made our Centre so wonderfull and have now been rewarded for all their hard work and ingenuity. I was in the coffee shop at lunchtime and went upstairs to the exhibition gallery where I saw a wonderful display of art done in mixed media by Dorothea Paradidos.

Busy evening now, packing again! for a long weekend starting in Bristol tomorrow night to stay with T's youngest daughter, then to St. Austell, Cornwall on Saturday, must call into the Old Press Gallery and view Swillinbilly's exhibition. Then on to Truro for the evening and that postponed January Wedding on Sunday. Seeing friends in Cubert on Monday then the long journey home for ....................

work again on Tuesday.

Happy weekend everyone!
