Shiant Shower

Ah well. A grey old day out at the Shiants today. Thousands and thousands of puffins, and not a single useable shot. The problem is the puffins all nest on one of the three islands that isn't really one that you can walk onto (and they nest lower than normal in loads of rocks as eel on a shoreline way below where you'd be walking). Pah.

This was the start of the trip out when there was still optimism and no rain yet. Still, a really interesting boat ride, and we did at least see puffins (honestly, like a swarm together with guillemots and razorbills). Strangely tiring day.

Tomorrow, unfortunately, is the last full day of the holiday. Pah once more.
