Snails

This is just about the hardest day of our trip to pick a single photo for.

Mr G took us rowing on the lake in the morning, and to explore the woods on the opposite bank. Some of the views were stunning.

We went for a long walk in the hills behind the cabin, collecting water from a spring, enjoying the wildlife and changing weather.

Our host caught two fresh fish for the children's tea and then cooked them expertly on the garden barbecue (along with several delicious mici (Romanian sausages).

We toasted the mid-way point of our journey with some delicious (if super strength) plum brandy.

But this has to be one of my favourite pictures from the whole adventure - my daughter, with her beloved snails, trying to show them the picture she'd drawn of them. Just magic.
