Soon Gone with the Wind

I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment, while I was hoeing in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance than I should have been by any epaulet I could have worn.
~Henry David Thoreau

I felt as distinguished as Thoreau today since this little one stayed fairly close to me long enough to get photographed, and even seemed curious about me, cocking her head one way and the other and repositioning herself to get a good gander. I found her at the pond on my way to class.

Haiku:
She stays a minute
And then before you know it
Soon gone with the wind

Corny, I know, but it's for DDW's challenge, Gone with the Wind :)

I'm once again looking at a stack of papers that I've got to get done, so exploring photos and commenting will have to wait until tomorrow, looking forward to it and thanks everyone for your comments on my waterfront self portrait. Pete laughed so hard when he saw it that that alone made it worth putting together.
